Sleep

We parted once in shallow dreams

In wakefulness you'd gone

Where you had come and whence you went

Sat lost to last night's song

Daylight stings, burning into dreams

Infrequent, they appear

Deep in a sleepy mountain, vast

And past the pool of tears

Conceived upon a pillowcase

See two contented hearts

And sympathetic minds exist

Concealed within the dark.

Play Pause
